The Story of Agriculture – Prague

Visit National Museum of Agriculture Prague

Let us tell you a story – the story of our agriculture, the story of everything between the soil and your plate.

The main building of the National Museum of Agriculture in Letná offers a unique perspective on agriculture and the phenomena associated with it. While the ground floor is set aside for agricultural technology enthusiasts (the Tractor on the Move exhibition), the first floor provides a perspective on natural resources, thanks to which hunter-gatherers ensured a means of subsistence from the dawn of humankind (the Gamekeeping and Fishing exhibitions). The second floor presents agriculture as one of the greatest inventions of humankind (the Agriculture and Water in the Landscape exhibitions). The third floor is dedicated to food (the Gastronomy exhibition). The whole experience culminates with the Views of Life exhibition on the museum’s roof garden. The museum’s courtyard is also full of life. Here you will find goats, hens, rabbits, pigeons and other domestic animals.

Every year the museum also hosts a range of exhibits relating to agriculture and holds many events, from those which guide us through traditions (Letná Pig-Slaughter, carnivals, the Letná Goose Festival and more) to Herb Day or confectioner’s festivals.

When creating exhibitions and displays, we also keep children in mind – they will certainly not find our museum boring! They will find a range of interactive elements and activities in our exhibits designed especially for them, from quizzes and game simulators to pedal tractors.
